The Brattleboro Retreat Tower is located in Brattleboro, Vermont. The Brattleboro Retreat was established in 1834 as a mental health facility. In a time when mental health patients were often neglected and tormented, the Brattleboro Retreat treated their patients with respect and care. The Brattleboro Retreat Tower was built in 1887, and the facility had the patients construct the tower themselves because they believed that physical activity was an important part of treatment. Not only did it serve as part of their treatment, the tower was built to give the patients somewhere to go to get fresh air and take in the amazing views from the top of the tower. The Retreat Tower is one of the most well known structures in the Brattleboro Retreat, although it is no longer open to the public. The Brattleboro Retreat is still a treatment center for mental health patients today, and in 1984 it was named on the National Register for Historic Places.

The Brattleboro Retreat Tower, a historical building of Vermont, is also known for its paranormal activity. The Brattleboro Retreat was established as a mental health facility, and the Retreat Tower was meant to be a place to facilitate the treatment of the patients there. Unfortunately, some patients did not climb the tower for the view, and instead jumped off the top and committed suicide. The number of suicides was kept quiet. There are many stories of paranormal activity and hauntings around the tower. Visitors of the Retreat Tower have reported seeing figures on the top of the tower that jump, but the apparitions always disappear before hitting the ground. There are a number of airborne ghosts that also have been seen around the tower. Aside from the Retreat Tower, the Retreat Cemetery is also said to be haunted, with ghosts seen flitting around the headstones.

Stay curious, but always stay within the bounds of the law and show consideration for the spiritual and historical significance of haunted places.
