The History Of The Alliance Theater
The Alliance Theater is a popular and haunted movie theater located in Alliance, Nebraska. It is open to the public today, and it actually began as a hotel. Back in the old days, before it ever became a theater, the Alliance Theater was actually the Charter Hotel. This hotel existed back in 1903, and it wasn’t until 1938 that it became a movie theater. Even then, it wasn’t called the Alliance Theater at first. It was named the Imperial Theater, but it underwent remodeling and gained the name it has to this day. Unfortunately, not everything was sunshine and rainbows at this theater. An actress by the name of Mary was performing as a bride when tragedy occurred. A piece of lighting equipment broke off and fell onto the stage, and she passed away from that incident.
The Haunting Of The Alliance Theater
The actress Mary suffered a terrible fate, and it is said she never left the theater even after her passing. Employees, managers, and guests alike have all heard strange noises and believe she’s haunting the place. Employees in particular have spotted shadowy figures roaming the halls during their night shifts. Projectionists noticed paranormal activity the most since they were in a position to hear and see things from their spot in the projection rooms. One of these weird noises is hand clapping. On top of that, employees heard footsteps around the halls even when no one was there. Employees felt uneasy in their time there, and they did their best to clock out as early as possible to avoid the paranormal activity. Ghostly figures have been seen before, but one manager at the theater claims that although interesting sounds and sights are in the theater, it’s an old building, and many of those noises have an explanation. However, the guests and employees still believe it’s a haunted site.
