In a fit of rage, Kalil attacked Anna’s family, tragically shooting her and her mother. While her mother survived, Anna, dressed in her nightgown, did not. Following the attack, Kalil unsuccessfully attempted to end his own life before being arrested and later sentenced to life imprisonment, although he was released early at the age of 71.
